Vitamin C Powder - Ascorbic Acid

When I realized my Vitamin C tablets were expired, I went to Whole Foods to shop for more. I had gotten some chewable Vitamin C's for my kids at our local pharmacy but it has lots of ingredients that I'd rather them not have (including artificial coloring). So I was looking for something for all of us, without the extra ingredients. What I chose was NutriBiotic's Ascorbic Acid Powder - 8 oz. - Powder . At Whole Foods an 8 oz container was $15.49. One teaspoon contains 4000 mg Vitamin C, or 6667% of daily value. It is vegan, hypoallergenic, gluten-free, and other ingredients are: NONE. Sounds great, but how does the product work? We mixed it with a little orange juice and the powder dissolved quite well, without leaving a noticeable taste. We didn't take the whole teaspoon, of course, but it's good to know that it only takes a little bit to get what you need. Both of my kids had colds/cough and it has worked really well on those. If they had something more serious I probably would have started with the teaspoon. There are many articles online on Vitamin C use, and I suggest you include this powdered ascorbic acid in your medicine cabinet. Here are some good ones, including its use with babies!
